David Moreno’s take

David Moreno
PJ & Son's Gardening runs lean and responsive, the kind of crew that shows up when an atmospheric river threatens your property—literally. Owner Pascual Cerda earned one of those two Google reviews by clearing a drainage ditch after dark during a storm, which tells me more about reliability than a hundred five-star platitudes. The other review describes a backyard sod project completed in two days: tear-out, grading, gopher barrier, and installation. That's efficient work, though two reviews don't give me enough pattern data to call it typical.

The service list and project images suggest they handle the fundamentals—sod, mulch, topsoil, smart irrigation with rain sensors. Nothing exotic, but those basics matter in Santa Barbara's drought-conscious, gopher-prone landscape. The hydroseed option is smart for slopes and erosion control, especially post-fire areas. I'd want to see more customer feedback before recommending them for complex hardscape or native plantings, but for straightforward lawn installation and maintenance, the early signals—punctuality, clear communication, owner-involved service—point the right direction. Just know you're hiring a smaller operation still building its track record.
