CEC ELECTRICAL SERVICES

CEC Electrical Services has been handling electrical and HVAC work in Santa Barbara for years, and the pattern I see in their reviews is pretty straightforward: when they show up and do the work, customers are happy with the quality and pricing. Multiple reviewers mention owner Jason's fair estimates and solid installations—hot tub panels, small business electrical, county inspection fixes—without the upselling that drives me crazy in this trade. The 4.3 Google rating reflects mostly satisfied customers who appreciate professionalism and technical competence.

That said, there are real warning signs worth noting. A 2024 review describes a messy panel installation with external wiring instead of the requested attic routing, plus a price jump mid-project—exactly the kind of scope creep that erodes trust. Another customer waited indefinitely for scheduled service after a good estimate, which suggests communication breakdowns. One road-rage complaint about a company truck is concerning from a professionalism standpoint, even if it's off-site behavior.

The project images show typical troubleshooting scenarios—flickering lights, dead outlets, ground-fault issues—bread-and-butter electrical diagnostics. If you're considering CEC, get everything in writing: routing plans, final pricing, and a firm schedule. When their systems work, they deliver competent electrical service at reasonable rates. When communication falters, you might be left waiting.
